Bellwork: we wrote notes on P.A.T.S= place,action,time,speaker for paragraphs (when to paragraph in narratives).First, we took the Master Vocabulary test over units1-9. When we finished we worked on our story boards or finished self-assessments. Ms. Kaufman said that starting on Friday, we begin unit 10 vocabulary and both synonym and antonyms and choosing the right word are due. Then, once everyone was done with the test we moved on to a mini-lesson about transitions. We learned what they are and wrote some notes on them. The two basic types of transitions are for time (later on) or place (in the hallway). You are to add transitions to your story board (every box labeled w/ transition type + transition word). We had a practice doing transitions. Ms. Kaufman had us add transitions to a practice paragraph and then a few people read aloud. Then that was the end of the day. Thursday in the computer lab to show some photo stories.
