MEAP MEAP! Read all about it! 9-25-12

As a class we went over the pronouns practice sheet p. 63.  Students made their own corrections.

Over the next week and half, our class will be reviewing test and reading strategies that not only apply to MEAP but to everyday in school.
Today students created a KWL chart to track what they learn about the strategies.  In the "K" column they brainstormed what they remember of good strategies to prepare for tests, taking tests and also reading strategies.  As students shared a loud, we added to our column and took time to discuss each item.  We began to view a power point about MEAP with some very important links to just what we are talking about.

A tool for success is to understand the common testing vocabulary.  Here is a list of words we need to know for MEAP. Theme, Genre, Tone, Fragment, Sentence Structure, Word Choice, Opinion, Comparison, Descriptive Language, Figurative Language.
