Brain Buster:

ALL WORLD

MEAP, test and reading strategies continued.....

In core groups students learned more about one of the MEAP vocabulary terms, "Genre".  Each group played a game to complete a worksheet matching clues to the proper genre in literature.  To check the answers, they viewed a fun YouTube video of genres set to Michael Jackson's ABC's.  Each group moved on to learn the rest of the MEAP vocabulary terms through a group challenge.  Each group was giving strips of paper to match definitions to it's term.  This was a timed event.  Once the groups had the strips in order, I
would check to see if they were correct and when correct, they copied in their notes, the definition to all of the MEAP vocabulary terms.

Working in groups efficiently and effectively is FUN!

HOMEWORK:  independent reading (15 minutes) and prepare for Friday's quiz:  Plot vocabulary and vocabulary from "Raymond's Run".
