9-26-11 How do I respond?

Today students practiced constructing responses given prompts related to other student's writing.  They read three samples written by other students, answered some questions to identify grammar, spelling and writing errors and constructed 2 responses given 2 different prompts.  As a class we broke down some of the terminology in the prompts like:  word choice and varied sentence structure.  The biggest idea that is stressed is to use examples and details to not only develop a paragraph but to also support opinions and thoughts.
