What's your story? 2-4-10

Congratulations to today's blog/twitter prize winners:  Katelyn, Tabetha and Kyle. We graded Unit 9 vocabulary sections synonyms and antonyms and choosing the right word.  Tomorrow completig the sentence and vocabulary in context is due.  Note the new hashtag for twitter in regards to personal narrative...#eng8pn.  Ms. Kaufman reminded everyone that the novel project (digital story) is due on the 16th and Monday, Highschool registrations are due.  Also, Monday begins career study in the computer lab.  Today we started the writing genre of personal narrative.  Everyone learned that just like a chocolate chip cookie has basic ingredients, so does writing genres like personal narrative.  The ingredients we learned today was there is a passage of time, descriptive writing appeals to the five senses, transitions are of time, place, and events and that context is bassed on first hand observation and the point of view is first person and all verbs are past tense.  Last, we had 15 minutes to brainstorm topics.
